The Domaine de la Renière has been a farm since 1631, owned by the Gay family until Thibault, a protégé of Romain Guiberteau, took over the domaine in 2018. The sub-region of Le Puy-Notre-Dame is the highest in the Saumur at just over 100 metres and is defined by its terroir of pure tuffeau/chalk of mainly Turonian limestone, with parcels of Jurassic and Eocene. Erosion over the milennia has created natural plateaus of limestone with thin, weathered soils and big stones of chalk throughout.

Lovers of Chenin and Franc from limestone will find these wines exceptionally enjoyable - pure mineral intensity with gentle texture from extended elevage.
